We like this place a lot.

Helen Robinson, 104 years old

I have begun a new project in collaboration with TERRIFIC Inc.

Still untitled, the work will document and share the life stories of many of Washington DC's most senior citizens.

These photographs are of Ms. Helen Robinson, 104 years old, who was born in 1912. She worked a long full career as an occupational health nurse for both the Federal and District government.

She still lives in the home she was raised in, and remains alert and active. In her wisdom, she urges people to be kinder and politer to one another.

Operation Understanding DC Class XXII, opening retreat

Operation Understanding DC's new class, now beginning a twenty-second year, at their opening retreat.

They are a lively group of African-American and Jewish high school students, destined for much learning and activism, and a bright future for themselves and our community furthering the values of tolerance, diversity, inclusion, and fairness for all.

Thanks to Avi Edelman, OUDC's program director, for his energy, vision, and help.

My Shakespeare story / Folger Shakespeare Library

The Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington DC has a terrific program in which people share their personal experiences with the Bard.

While on assignment with them recently, I recounted my early memories of hearing Hamlet's "To be or not to be " soliloquy in German, from my father.

And.. thank you to Garland Scott of the Folger for her creative energies and great spirit.

American investigations DC / Super Beauty, and rust

The Super Beauty store is in the 3500 block of East Capitol Street NE, Washington DC.

The rusted utility box is in the 4700 block of First Street SW, Washington DC.

There's some sad stuff out there, staring one in the face.
