Summer vacation / Portsmouth, New Hampshire

On Shari's suggestion, Ruth and I visited the charming harbor town of Portsmouth, New Hampshire. We especially enjoyed the living history site, Strawberry Banke. Well worth it. We appreciated visiting the Shapiro's house, which was occupied by a Jewish immigrant family in the early to mid 20th century. Good stuff.

Smuttynose, indeed.

We also now know that at least one young man in town thinks the Jewish pastry "mandelbrot" is pronounced "mango bread."
