From the vaults: Keith Haring
I met and photographed artist Keith Haring on assignment to cover him painting for the children at the White House Easter Egg Roll in 1988.
It was the Reagan era, and he seemed totally out of place there. We talked for a while, and I quietly whispered to him "what are you doing here?" his clever and on-point whisper back "the same thing you are."
