Folger Student Shakespeare Festival 2025

I documented this year's Folger Student Shakespeare Festival. Lively interpretations of the Bard's plays were staged by students from Poe Middle School, Montgomery Blair High School, Duke Ellington High School for the Performing Arts, Falls Church High School, Ballou High School, Quince Orchard High School, Bullis Prep, Swanson Middle School, Ashreinu, and other regional school drama programs.

Thanks to Garland Scott for the assignment, the education staff at the Folger, and the Mistress of the Revels.

Folger Shakespeare Library student theatre festival - Alive once more!

After a multi-year gap due to covid -19 and major reconstruction of the building, the Folger Shakespeare Library once again staged its Student Theater Festival in their newly-revamped space. It was a sweet joy to see the place come back alive.

Student ensembles from Hayfield High School, Blessed Sacrament, School Ballou High School, Montgomery Blair High School, Columbia Heights Educational Campus, Quince Orchard High School, Lake Braddock High School, Northwood High School, Alexandria City High School, Rachel Carson Middle School, Justice High School (my alma mater), Kilmer Middle School, and Wheaton High School participated.

Thanks to these creative students, their dedicated drama teachers, volunteers and parents, Folger staff, Mistress of the Revels Cam Magee, and to Garland Scott for the assignment.
