Spanberger / Kaine - fundraiser

I photographed at an enthusiastic fundraiser in Arlington for Abigail Spanberger, a Democrat who is running for governor of Virginia. A surprise guest was US Senator Tim Kaine, who sat in with the Veronneau band. The Senator's a pretty accomplished blues harp player and singer. Arlington elected state officials Patrick Hope, Adele McLure, and Barbara Favola also spoke.

Thanks to Natalie Roy for putting the event together.

Washington Institute for Near East Policy conference, with US Ambassador/negotiator Dennis Ross, Saudi Arabian Ambassador to the US Princess Reema bint Bandar al-Saud, Israeli Ambassador Michael Herzog,  IDF armed forces attache Maj. Gen. Hidai Zilberman, former US Ambassador to Israel Thomas Nides, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, former US deputy national security advisor Dina Powell McCormick, Admiral Brad Cooper of US Central Command, and protestors outside the Israeli embassy in Washington DC.

Muslim-Jewish Interfaith Iftar

The American Muslim and Multifaith Women's Empowerment Council (AMMWEC) held a Muslim-Jewish Interfaith Iftar at Bnai Tzedek Congregation, in Maryland.

Words of cooperation, partnership, and mutual respect were shared by AMMWEC's executive director Anila Ali, Rabbi Stuart Weinblatt, Israeli Ambassador Herzog, Bosnian Ambassador Sven Alkalaj, dignitaries from a range of nations and organizations, with religious services led by both Rabbi Wenblatt and Imam Faizul R. Khan

The Ramadan fast and the Fast of Esther were broken with an Iftar meal of kosher Pakistani cuisine.
