From the vaults | Peter and the Noisemakers / Strokes of Genius

I was in a band of sorts, back in yon years of yore.

Peter & the Noisemakers, backstage, HB Woodlawn School, Arlington VA, at the "Anti-Disco Bash" Nov. 2, 1979. We were under-rehearsed, loud, frantic, vaguely amusing. Avant-noise.

Left to right: Anthony Morrow, David Nachmanoff, Peter Deer, Lloyd Wolf, John Moremen.

Another iteration of the band. Left to right: Scott McKnight, Kath Thaxton, Danielle Probst. Lloyd Wolf, Peter Deer, Bill Kamens. Photo probably by Roger Boersma (thanks Roger!)

Our very dumb logo:

And the last band I was in, the Strokes of Genius, circa 1985. We actually could kind of play. Left to right: lloyd Wolf, my daughter Emma, Gene Griffiths, Mike Salkind, Peter Deer.

Rhododendron /Zig Zag, Oregon

Ruth and I spent a week in a cabin near Mount Hood, Orgeon with lifelong friends (Geeks Anonymous).  The nearest towns were Rhododendron and Zig Zag. The huge trees and the dense flora are a miracle to behold.

Old friends. The camaraderie of time, lives shared.  A blessing.
