Dr. Dorothy Height 1912-2010

Dr. Dorothy Height, lauded by President Obama as "the godmother of the civil rights movement" passed away yesterday at the age of 98.

Her effective and graceful leadership for equal rights for African-Americans and women merits our deepest gratitude and emulation.

Thank you Dr. Height. I am sure the angels are welcoming you as one of them.

This portrait was made in the offices of the National Council of Negro Women in April 2005.

Lloyd
I thought this was lovely. I hope you don't mind but I shared it with my staff at Gunston.
