LiUNA International Convention 2026

I recently covered the convention of 4,000+ delegates and attendees of LiUNA, the Laborers International Union of North America. This strong and diverse building trades union has well over half a million members and is committed through its "Laborers Rising" campaign to grow to a million or more. The week was filled with planning, high energy, rousing insightful speakers, and a feeling of righteous support and belonging - solidarity.

Thanks to Ed Rehfeld and Dionne Stafford of the LiUNA staff, to photographer Keith Mellnick, alongside whom I worked with seamlessly, and especially to the great hardworking women and men of LiUNA.

Feel the power.

What's Past Is Prologue" - Transformation of the Folger Shakespeare Library 2020 - 2024

I have created an artist's book of the work I did for over four years documenting the demolition, construction, and renovation of the Folger Shakespeare Library in DC. It was a marvel and a learning experience to do this work on behalf of the Folger.

You can preview the entire book for free or purchase it if you feel so moved. Thanks to the good folks at the Folger and the hard-working construction crews who trusted me do record the process.

Enjoy.

Laborers Rising | LiUNA

I recently photographed a multi-day conference held in Minneapolis of labor organizers for LiUNA, the Laborer's International Union of North America. This large and active organization is driving to double their membership of hard-working men and women across the US and Canada to be one million strong.

It was a powerful, uplifting, practical, and energizing gathering.

Thanks to Ed Rehfeld of LiUNA for the assignment, and a cheer for these folks who quite literally build our nations.
