Quarantine Diary 40: Ride for Black Lives

I photographed a recent bike rally for black lives, organized by Arlington for Justice. Hundreds of riders travelled from the historic Drew School to Courthouse Plaza, where a number of speakers urged the crowd to continue fighting for equity in law, education, housing, and health. Social distance safety protocols were observed.

Black lives matter.

Roy Lewis, photographer, at the Supreme Court

Portrait of my friend and colleague, the renowned photographer Roy Lewis.

He's been around, seen and documented it all. A history maker as well as an observer.

Quarantine Diary 39 | vigil for Ruth Bader Ginsburg, z'l.

Judge Ruth Bader Ginsburg righteously pursued justice.

May her memory be a revolution.

Quarantine Diary 38 | A blast for justice, and a cheerleader

Quarantine Diary 38. On the eve of Rosh Hashanah, many Jewish groups gathered to hear the blast of the shofar, a ram's horn, to announce the new year. It's sounding is a clarion call to awareness. My congregation, the Fabrangen havurah, combined this with our weekly public vigil for racial justice.

We were joined by a masked cheerleader.

To a blessed new year, and to fairness and justice for all.
