Autumn foliage, Glencarlyn Park

Just a short walk beyond my front door.

Rehoboth DE and Cape May NJ

A few pictures from a lovely short vacation Ruth and I recently took in Rehoboth, Delaware, with a side trip via ferry to Cape May, New Jersey.

We stayed at the lovely and funky Rehoboth Guest House again. Halloween stuff all 'round. Wonderful breakfasts there.

Sea. Sand. My love. Long long walks.

Peaceful. Happy.

Stumbling Stones unveiling | Ball-Sellers House, Arlington VA.

At the oldest building in Arlington, VA, Glencarlyn's Ball-Sellers House, there was a solemn and powerful gathering honoring the three enslaved people who had lived in bondage there in the 18th and 19th century. These three "Stumbling Stones" were dedicated by the Arlington Historical Society and the Black Heritage Museum of Arlington.

A large contingent of our community leaders and members were on hand to witness, honor, and reflect.
The stumbling stones were inspired by the "Stolpersteine" that have been placed in Germany honoring and marking victims of the Nazi-era Holocaust.

Say the names. Remember.

Clarendon Day Festival 2023

I recently photographed the annual Clarendon Day festival in Arlington for the Clarendon Alliance

Lots of fun.

Thanks to Alex Sakes for the referral, and to Clarendon Alliance director Kieran Daly for the assignment.
