From the Vaults | Quincy Jones and Nancy Sinatra

I made these portraits of musicians Quincy Jones and Nancy Sinatra while on assignment to cover them at a 2003 event in Washington, DC.

Grace and great talent.

Inauguration Eve, US Capitol, Washington DC | Quarantine Diary 52

I photographed around the perimeter of the US Capitol the evening before the inauguration of President Joseph Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. Security was extraordinarily tight as a result of the violent insurrectionist riot at the Capitol just two weeks before.

There were multiple layers of high steel mesh fences, concrete barriers, manned checkpoints, and miles of razor wire securing the area. A total of 25,000 armed National Guard troops and police were deployed in order keep the area safe.

It worked.

Thank you to those who served.

The inauguration was uplifting, peaceful, and ushered in a hopeful new era to the nation.

The US Capitol secured

After last week's unprecedented insurrectionist riots, protective fencing was erected around the US Capitol. National Guard troops and other security personnel are now on duty in the area.

Riot in the US Capitol (Quarantine Diary 51)

I documented the mob of pro-Trump activists who rioted and desecrated the United States Capitol in Washington DC on Wednesday January 6, 2021. I worked and witnessed in the midst of this howling insurrectionist storm for several hours.

Treason, terror, & madness.
