Get out the vote - Labor in action

These photographs were made on assignment for the American Federation of Teachers, who went door to door in northern Virginia campaigning to get out the vote by their members. The effort was part of an area-wide action with the NOVA Area Labor Federation.

Some photographs from a workshop of the current class of Operation Understanding DC. OUDC's "mission is to build a generation of African American and Jewish community leaders who promote respect, understanding and cooperation while working to eradicate racism, anti-Semitism and all forms of discrimination."

I have been donating my time and eye to this excellent program since it's inception- a very worthwhile  endeavor; a model for how education should - and can - work.

Jewish Monthly- magazine covers

I have been the photographer for many of Bnai Brith's Jewish Monthly magazine covers over the years. Here is a collage of 20 covers- a sampling of a larger body of work. One photo essay, on the Jew of Morocco, was granted a Simon Rockower Award for Excellence in Jewish Journalism.

Thanks to Bnai Brith for the opportunity to share my talents with their worldwide membership over the years.

Circles Within Circles exhibition at the Alper JCC, Miami

The collaborative exhibition I have created with poet Sherri Shunfenthal is being exhibited at the Alper Jewish Community Center, in Miami Florida.

Our photographic images and poems explore concepts and practices of Jewish time.
