Today is Yom HaShoah, Holocaust Memorial Day.
Thirty-one years ago today in 1990, I was covering the first full March of the Living. Now an annual program, it was the first time a large contingent of Jews had been back in Poland to visit the Nazi extermination camps of Majdanek, Treblinka, Auschwitz-Birkenau, the former Warsaw Ghetto, and other sites since the end of World War II. Several thousand Jewish youth from around the world participated.
It was a profoundly moving experience.
Remember.
Never again.
