I made these photographs of workers in Long Beach, Los Angeles, Bakersfield, Oakland, and San Francisco, California in summer 2016 for LiUNA, the Laborers International Union of North America.
I was the photographer in a crew that documented skilled laborers and other union members engaged in bridge and subway building, law enforcement and traffic work, solar energy facility construction, plus park and bridge maintenance.
Thanks to Ed Rehfeld of LiUNA for these assignments.

Japanese Tea Garden, Golden Gate Park, San Francisco
The Japanese Tea Garden is located within Golden Gate Park, in San Francisco, California.
It is one of my favorite places in the world.
I had the privilege of photographing the workers there while on assignment in summer 2016 for LiUNA, the Laborer's International Union.
Thanks to Ed Rehfeld of LiUNA for this opportunity.
