Kleztronica at Bossa Bistro

Kaia Berman Peters (vocals, accordion, DJ)  in collaboration with Rachel Leader (fiddle, of Mamaliga) performed a high-energy set at Bossa Bistro in DC as part of the kleztronica movement - a loose collective of young diaspora Jewish artists creating what they have dubbed Yiddish House music /electronic klezmer.

AIMBE 2024

I just finished photographing an assignment for AIMBE, The American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering.

These scientists and research engineers are extraordinarily creative people, continually at the cutting edge of knowledge and its applications.

All the pictures were captured live onsite in-camera using multiple exposures.

Muslim-Jewish Interfaith Iftar

The American Muslim and Multifaith Women's Empowerment Council (AMMWEC) held a Muslim-Jewish Interfaith Iftar at Bnai Tzedek Congregation, in Maryland.

Words of cooperation, partnership, and mutual respect were shared by AMMWEC's executive director Anila Ali, Rabbi Stuart Weinblatt, Israeli Ambassador Herzog, Bosnian Ambassador Sven Alkalaj, dignitaries from a range of nations and organizations, with religious services led by both Rabbi Wenblatt and Imam Faizul R. Khan

The Ramadan fast and the Fast of Esther were broken with an Iftar meal of kosher Pakistani cuisine.

Cherry blossoms | DC sakura

Ruth and I enjoyed our (and hordes of other folks') traditional stroll around the Tidal Basin to view the cherry blossoms. Obligatory photos. A lovely evening.
