Mrs. Toretsky’s Nightmare, a local DC area klezmer band, played on the street to raise awareness and funds for the situation in Ukraine. They performed mostly Ukrainian music, including the folk song Oy, U Hayu Pri Dunayu (In the Glade Along The Danube), in front of the D Light Cafe and Bakery in the Adams Morgan neighborhood of Washington DC, which is owned by two Ukrainian sisters, Anastasiia and Vira Derun. All the money collected was donated to humanitarian charities aiding those affected by the crisis in Ukraine.
