The Stranniki (The Wanderers): Psoy Korolenko and Polina Shepherd house concert

"Avant-bard" Psoy Korolenko and musician Polina Shepherd have been touring the USA as The Stranniki (The Wanderers): Shlepping the Steppes and the Shtetl.

I recently photographed these two powerful performers at a house concert in Bethesda Maryland. The pieces were performed in Yiddish, Russian, English and Hebrew, to a primarily Russian-speaking audience.

Amazing stuff; two deeply visceral soul-searing artists.

Iosel Vaisman has posted a set of videos of this concert. Click here to view them.
