Class 24 of Operation Understanding DC began their year of learning together this weekend. Workshops were held at Plymouth Congregational United Church of Christ in Northeast Washington DC.
The mission of OUDC "is to build a generation of African American and Jewish community leaders who promote respect, understanding and cooperation while working to eradicate racism, anti-Semitism and all forms of discrimination."
Every strength to all of these young people in their efforts.

OUDC Class 23 graduation
Class 23 of Operation Understanding DC finished their year-long voyage of learning this past weekend.
May they build upon their experiences together as they move into the next stages of their lives.
Thanks also to all these fine young people, to their parents, the board, and to Ricki Horne, Emmy Cohen, and Executive Director Yolanda Savage-Narva for the award I was given for 24 years of volunteer service to the organization. Much obliged, and glad to help.

Women's March 2018 | Washington DC
A march by tens of thousands of women and their allies was held on January 20, 2018, at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC to advocate for equality, justice, fair treatment for immigrants, women, the LGBT community, African-American, Latina, native peoples, and other ethnic and religious minority groups, environmental protection, and especially to protect voting rights for all; in protest against the repressive, bigoted, anti-democratic policies of the current administration.
Sister women's marches were held across the nation and internationally. Millions of people participated. #resist #womensmarch
These photographs are a glimpse at the energy and people who participated.
