I photographed two home visits, a "warm home" gathering, and Jewish senior services programs in Kiev, Ukraine.
Many of these people are Holocaust survivors and World War II veterans.
I was honored and privileged to be able to meet them, and to share a little of their lives and community support systems.

Kiev | Jewish family services
I photographed two families today in Kiev, Ukraine, who receive help from the Joint Distribution Committee (JDC). I am here on assignment for the Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA).
The challenges here are great, and the Joint is doing much-needed work in the community.
Thanks to Alona Druzhynina and the social workers of the Joint for their kind and effective help, and my deep appreciation to the families for letting me into their world, and for sharing their lives.
And thanks also to JFNA's senior art director, Mooki Saltzman, for her confidence in my work, and this opportunity to document where energies and healing need to be applied in the world.

Kiev | streets/spring
I explored downtown Kiev, Ukraine, a bit today.
Eyes wide open, on a spring afternoon. This is some of what I saw.
Personal visual voyage.
